Antique Dresden Meissen Cross Swords Cup and Saucer w Flowers & Roses

  
Antique 19th Century cup with matching saucer. Both of the pieces are marked with the cross swords and then Dresden just below the cross swords. The set is quite old and I believe dates to the late 1800s. Very fine porcelain almost like egg shell which is mostly noted on the cup. The cup is a flat cup with a fancy handle.

Embossed design all around the rim on a white porcelain background. Small bouquets of flowers are found all around the cup including roses. On the inside bottom is what looks like a single rose with green leaves. I did not see nor feel any chips, cracks or crazing on the cup There is gold wear to the rim and also on the handle. Measures about 1 3/4" high with an opening of almost 3" wide.

The saucer has the same embossed pattern in gold on the rim with a gold design and flowers. There is a small chip on the underside of the rim of the saucer. Hard to see from the front but can be seen on the bottom.

There is wear to the gold on the outside rim. Measures about 5 1/4 across the top. Unlike most saucers that have a ring in the center to place the cup, this does not.

The cup simply sits on the plate. Pretty tea or coffee set. Most of my items are vintage in nature and I have had for years. I describe my items the best I can based on my ability. If you have any questions, please ask.

Colors may vary depending on the light I have taken the photo in. Since most of my items are passed down from one generation to another and are quite old, nothing is perfect and will have some wear. I packed very well to make sure the item is received in one piece. All items are inspected prior to packing. Please don't throw away the box or item.
