This porcelain cup and saucer was made by Sevres of France in the 1780's. The cup measures about 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" wide, not including the handle.
The saucer is about 5 in diameter and 7/8 of an inch in height. The base of the cup has the mark for the year 1783, and the saucer has the mark for 1789.
The set is white with colorful hand-painted floral sprays, a blue band, gold accents and trim. These were made right before the French Revolution, when porcelain was made only for the aristocracy.
This set is in good condition. There is one small chip on the rim of the cup, as seen in the last two photos. The interior of the cup has some discoloration on the bottom. There is some surface wear and wear to the gold trim. It is a stunning cup and saucer from the 18th century.
